A Record-Breaking Race in Prospect?
In the 2024 Dubai Marathon, Ethiopian runner Tigist Ketema produced an unofficial women’s world record as a debutante, finishing in a time of 2:16:071, making her the 8th fastest woman in marathon history. Ketema smashed the course record set in 2019 by Kenyan speedster Ruth Chepngetich at 02:17:08. Can anyone undercut that time in 2025? There will be plenty of competing runners ready to take on the challenge.
Another burning question on race day: Will the Men’s Elite course record of 02:03:34 set in 2019 by Getaneh Molla of Ethiopia be shattered next time out?
The 2025 edition promises to deliver even more exciting performances from elite athletes.
A Quality Field of Elite Athletes Emerging

- Kebede Tulu Wami: Another elite Ethiopian athlete who has been steadily improving his marathon times is also aiming for victory this time round.
These elite athletes and more, promise an exciting and competitive race in Dubai.
