Big demand for 25th Anniversary celebration Dubai World Cup Tickets
The $35 million Dubai World Cup takes place during the last weekend in March each year and has become one of the most enthralling combined sporting/ social events in the Dubai calendar.

The latest edition of Dubai’s Classic race is scheduled to take place at the magnificent Meydan Racecourse on Saturday, March 28, 2020, added to which it is the 25th Anniversary of the event. Undoubtedly, there is a very special occasion in prospect, so make sure to buy your Dubai World Cup Tickets as early as possible to book your spot in the famous one-mile long grandstand and join in the celebrations.
The main race day features nine high-class, including 6 six Group 1 and 3 Group 2 races. In 2019, the $12 million featured race prize was won by Thunder Snow for the second year running, the first horse ever to retain the Dubai World Cup. What an emotional moment that was. This year the mighty Thunder Snow will not be on show as he enters well earned retirement from racing and goes into stud, and so we can expect a new hoofed hero to emerge.

Up to 2009, the Dubai World Cup took place at Nad Al Sheba Racecourse, the event moved to its spectacular new environment at Meydan from 2010 onwards. The race is open to four-year-olds and upwards, originating from the northern hemisphere; and three-year-olds and upwards from the southern hemisphere.
A race over 2,000 metres (approximately 10 furlongs or 1.24 miles), the Dubai World Cup now run on a dirt surfaced track, frequently sees the aristocracy among United States Classic horses travel to take on challengers from Europe and further afield. In an earlier phase, the race was run for several years on a Tapeta synthetic surface
Meydan is a left-hand circuit with a total distance of 8.75 furlongs (1,760 metres or 1.09 miles). The Meydan grandstand is the longest in the world (just over one mile) and can accommodate up to 60,000 spectators.
The Dubai World Cup is an unbeatable racing experience, as well as a striking social spectacle famous for its lavish fashion. It follows the Dubai Racing Carnival, which covers 10 meetings between January and March. The Dubai Racing Carnival culminates on Super Saturday, which provides the major preparation for Dubai World Cup contenders.
Dubai is ranked as one of the most popular holiday destinations in the world. A vibrant modern city in the United Arab Emirates, brimming with iconic architecture and marvels of civil engineering, but a metropolis which has still managed to retain its rich cultural heritage and history  as a prominent Arabian Gulf port and trading centre as well as its desert roots. Year-round sunshine coupled with outstanding hospitality infrastructure and tourism opportunities, as well as sports and entertainment facilities amount to an exceptional experience for visitors. Dubai is host to a panoply of first class global sporting events and consequently attracts high volumes of sports tourism.
As you might imagine Dubai World Cup Tickets are a much sought after commodity in such an important anniversary year. Therefore if horse racing is your passion it is recommended that you invest in your tickets without delay, with demand soaring.  As always we can undoubtedly expect a day of electric equestrian drama at Meydan as the world’s best among bighearted thoroughbreds battle it out for the top $12million prize.
Previous Dubai World Cup winners of note
The Dubai World Cup has enjoyed the presence of some phenomenal performers down the years.
The first Dubai World Cup, back in 1996 was won by the glorious to watch American super-steed and future Hall Of Fame inductee Cigar. A most fitting start to a scintillating event, and since then several of the all time greatest horses have taken the honours.
I well remember the mercurial Dubai Millennium, competing under the colours of Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed’s Godolphin operation, who powered to a remarkable victory in record time at Nad Al Sheba back in 2000.

Curlin, redoubtable winner of the Preakness Stakes and the Breeders’ Cup Classic in 2007, who then galloped Dubai World Cup glory in 2008, while
Moving swiftly into the next decade, there was California Chrome that plucky 2014 Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner, quite simply untouchable in 2016.

Meanwhile Arrogate, trained by Bob Baffert was winning the Travers Stakes in record time as well as the Breeders’ Cup Classic back in 2016, obviously preparing to become the comeback king recovering from last place with virtually no chance in early going to romp home and claim the 2017 Dubai World Cup.

Then came Thunder Snow’s double in 2018 and 2019’s, Godolphin’s Irish-bred horse storming to victory in both races under the stewardship of brilliant Belgian jockey Christophe Soumillon.

Topping the trainers’ leaderboard is Saeed bin Suroor with nine victories, with American Jerry Bailey heading the jockeys’ table on four wins. Locally headquartered Godolphin unsurprisingly has dominated the owner charts as eight-times prizewinners.

Dubai World Cup programme

Although the Dubai World Cup is the main featured event of the programme, it is complemented by a number of other top-class races on the card which offers fans with a day of horse racing days.
The Dubai Sheema Classic, is another Group 1 prize with a $6 million purse to the winner, run over 12 furlongs on turf, won in 2019 by Godolphin star mount Old Persian in 2019.

The Dubai Turf (9 furlongs), also a Group 1 prize of $6 million, scooped up by sensational Japanese horse Almond Eye in 2019. The Al Quoz Sprint (6 furlongs on turf), went to Godolphin’s Blue Point.

The UAE Derby is another race carded as Group 1, run over 9.5 furlongs on dirt. 2019’s event was won by a 25-1 outsider, US-trained Plus Que Parfait.

In essence as each racing season unfolds those lucky enough to secure Dubai World Cup Tickets can always look forward to an exhilarating meeting crowned by the raw thrill of a star studded main event.
