Expat Sport stays ahead of the game – Press Release
The fact that the British and Irish Lions rugby team only tour Australia once every 12 years, has left Dubai-based sports travel package specialists Expat Sport inundated with demand.
Only three Tests will be played between the Qantas Wallabies and the ‘Lions’, as they are affectionately known throughout the rugby world, in a tour schedule that starts with the first warm up game Down Under, on 5th of June and ends with the 3rd Test on 6th of July 2013.
Alan Holt, managing director of Expat Holidays, said the clamour for tickets for the ‘Lions’ tour “was simply phenomenal, with rugby fans laying siege to Expat Sports Dubai offices as it suddenly dawns on them that they just can’t buy tickets in Australia on arrival, because there are none to be had!”
“The reason for that”, he went on to say, “is that public tickets went on sale this morning in Oz and within 15 minutes, the ‘Sold Out’ notices were being put up on every available surface in the vicinity of the ticketing outlets, just to stem the tide of would be spectators who had already lost out!”
However, all is not as bad as it seems, as they say, for Expat Sports duly cognisant of the inherent value of the Boy Scout’s motto, ‘have been prepared’.
“Fortunately we still hold a limited ticket inventory, including Platinum category seating, as part of travel packages for all three Test matches”, said Holt. “But beware, for ‘procrastination is the thief of time’ and they are selling out fast!” he added.
As rugby devotees pack down outside the Expat Sports nerve centre, instant converts to the doctrine that the only way is bundled; the firm is still offering official packages for all three tests in Australia, as well as the warm up game.
“All Expat Sport travel packages include official tickets, accommodation, pre match function, and a commemorative jersey and prices start from just AED 3,840 per person. Call our office today on 04 435 6612 or visit our website www.expatsport.com. But look sharp as these sumptuous packages cannot last!” Allan Holt concludes.
Given the level of demand, prefixing the MD’s finale with that alluring phrase beloved of Barnum & Bailey, “Roll up, Roll up”, would seem somewhat superfluous. However, the Qantas Wallabies v the British and Irish Lions certainly promises to be, in a rugby context at least, ‘The Greatest Show on Earth’.
