Schools International Twenty20 Tournament
Expat Sport and the ICC Academy are pleased to announce the launch of their first ever Schools International Twenty20 (T20) Tournament.
Featuring invited international schools, the week long event will be staged at the ICC Academy from the 2nd to 9th April, 2016. Teams compete for both a Plate and Trophy final berth.
During the week, each team will experience the thrill of playing and training on the same surfaces and facilities used by some of the world’s best players, as well as playing and training under floodlights.
With the massive success of T20 cricket globally, each team can be assured that the tournament will offer them a truly ‘professional’ experience. Entry includes a minimum of 4 fixtures, 2 training sessions including a Master Class with the expert team at ICC Academy, B&B, 4* accommodation, food and drinks for teams on training and match days, plus transfers.
ICC Academy Manager, Will Kitchen commented: “Year round, we host some of the best players and teams in the world at ICC Academy. When teams travel to us, we know they love the venue and service, of course the most important aspect is that they recognise what we have to offer here is truly world class which in turn, enables them to develop world class skills.
“We want to offer the same experience and service to schools cricket. Having played host to the 2014 IPL, the logical place to start this is T20 cricket,” he continued. “We want to establish the Schools International T20 as a permanent fixture on the school sport map globally, whilst our ambition for year one is modest, with places strictly limited, we would like to grow the event year on year to ensure all interested schools have a chance to compete.
“Each team will experience what it feels like to travel abroad an be treated like a professional player. I’m certain it will be an incredible week for all concerned.”
The tournament is being run in association with leading travel firm, Expat Sport ensuring that both on and off the field, each team can be assured of a thoroughly professional experience.
All entries will be managed via Expat Sport and further details can be found here including a link for bookings. Alternatively, contact an experienced member of the Expat Sport team.
